Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (421A)

We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Heavy Duty Equipment Technician

Apprentice (421A) to join our team. In this role, you will work under the guidance of licensed

technicians to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy-duty equipment to

ensure safe and reliable operation. No two days look the same in this role. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed technicians with inspecting, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing

heavy-duty equipment.

  • Learn to work on a variety of equipment components including, drive axle and draft shaft assemblies, final drives, structural components, frames, and undercarriages, and tires, wheels, and ground engaging equipment and attachments.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic service tasks.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and performance concerns.
  • Assist with servicing, adjusting, replacing, aligning, and reconditioning components.
  • Maintain accurate service records and work documentation.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with Ontario

OHSA regulations.


Qualifications

  • Registered or willing to register as a 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice
  • Previous experience working with heavy-duty equipment or related mechanical

experience considered an asset

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics (or willingness to learn)
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence (DZ or AZ considered an asset)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting, standing, and working in

varied environments
